The Training and Development Manager is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employee partners. This position actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

The Training and Development Manager provides leadership and creativity including designing, developing, and implementing an overall divisional learning and development strategy that supports a successful business.

The successful leader demonstrates a strong commitment to providing quality learning and development for all employee-partners by creating a supportive, collaborative environment that provides access to ongoing and well-coordinated solutions with the goal of maintaining the highest quality of services for clients, business sustainability, and employee partner engagement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Leads national learning needs analysis and the design, implementation, and evaluation of interventions and programs that ensure technical development, professional development, leadership development, and continuous learning for all employee-partners
  • Works with Divisional Leadership on the learning and development process with accountability for budget management and aligning resources for maximum impact.
  • Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments
  • Partners with business leaders and human resources partners to prioritize initiatives, actions, and resources through national learning needs analysis and planning.
  • Provides overall leadership and management of the training and development function and talent aligned to the function.
  • Works with CPO on technology learning framework, including LMS, online learning, and metrics.
  • Implements and manages metrics and benchmarks that measure the impact and effectiveness of learning and development programs.
  • Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
  • Reviews existing training programs; suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.
  • Ensures that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
  • Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and/or industry.
  • Forges and leverages relationships with external training suppliers and resources; strategically and tactically align internal and external resources to achieve an optimal, efficient and effective suite of learning and development tools and resources.
  • Maintains advisory/consultative relationships with internal key stakeholders and those in subject-matter expert areas/centers of excellence that provide input to or deliver learning and development.
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
  • Reviews and evaluates learning and development organization, practices, processes, and protocols and makes recommendations on refinements and necessities appropriate to meet current and future business needs.
  • Develops trainer development programs and coaches' others involved in training efforts, providing effective growth and development opportunities.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization; Demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, generational, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Works closely with CPO on competency model for an organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in progressive roles, including managerial roles, in the learning and development arena
  • Manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred, but not required for the right individual.
  • Demonstrated knowledge through direct experience of learning concepts, training, and development methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple, complex projects across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to perform and interpret needs analyses and translates the findings into actionable next steps.
  • Strong analytical statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills and ability to make qualitative judgments of training, education, and development resources in all types and formats.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning processes, instructional design techniques, and evaluation methodologies
  • Strong planning and project management skills and ability to apply these skills in effective working partnerships across organizational lines.
  • Personal initiative, drive, and interest in learning, growing, and developing high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, including group facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including leadership, influencing, and relationship-building across the enterprise company.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and projects, and function effectively as a self-directed leader of multiple initiatives.
  • Experience in coaching and providing training for employees and managers is desirable.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments, and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology/Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Proven high level of business integrity, client service, and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Detail oriented Full body movement, use of all senses, able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift, stand, bend, stoop, twist, turn, kneel, and squat for short periods of time.
