Trust Investment and Sales Analyst

Role and Responsibilities

This on-site role will support a broad range of investment and sales activities aimed at accomplishing departmental Assets Under Management (AUM) growth goals, investment performance targets and compliance mandates, as well as help shape the evolution of our digital client experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Performs a variety of duties relating to the investment trading function as illustrated by the following:
  1. Settles trades with operations; resolves issues as necessary.
  2. Processes asset reallocations as directed by Account Officer.

  1. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties relating to investment research as follows:
  1. Interacts with mutual fund companies to gather research information; requests marketing information from mutual fund companies assisting with the due diligence process.
  2. Assists with research of economic data.
  3. Completes Annual Broker Review.

  1. Performs a variety of duties to support the trust support function of which the following are illustrative:
  1. Performs duties relating to client support by:
    1. Resolving customer inquiries by phone.
    2. Addressing problems as they arise; searches out applicable assistance.
    3. Assembling materials for client meetings; i.e., forms, statements, marketing pieces, etc.
  1. Performs various data entry functions utilizing various software systems and trading platforms.
  2. Processes account allocations and testing functions; i.e., reconciles accounts, determines eligibility, performs compliance testing, and generates participant statements.
  3. Coordinates all aspects of online client portal access.

  1. Prepares prospect and client presentation materials by:
  1. Creating marketing material, graphs, portfolio reports, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations needed to support current client relationships.
  2. Preparing various fund summary write-ups.
  3. Participating in preparation of sales proposals as needed, coordinates & tracks RFP responses, and assists in identifying and monitoring pipeline trends.

  1. Performs investment return and financial planning analysis using various software to assist account officers.
  1. Enters client information into financial planning software, analyzes assumptions, and provides reports to account officer.
  2. Provides account information for upload into investment return software, and third party statement preparation.
  3. Analyzes data for accuracy and generates reports for account officers as required.

  1. Serves as the Committee Secretary for various operating committees by performing the following duties:
  1. Preparing committee packets and disseminates to appropriate committee members and guests.
  2. Preparing meeting minutes, obtains approval, and keeps historical documentation.

  1. Researches and provides basic analysis from various sources regarding investment alternatives; makes recommendations to supervisor.

  1. Supports the duties of the Trust Administrator(s) as required.

  1. Achieves goals assigned to the Trust Investment & Sales Analyst as part of the Department's annual operating plan.

  1. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.

  1. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.

  1. Coordinates departmental tasks with coworkers inside and outside the department in order to ensure an efficient process and the completion of essential tasks needing proper segregation of duties.

  1. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate company personnel.

  1. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other company personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

  1. Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports as directed.

Ancillary Duties

  1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual or departmental circumstances.
 
Position Requirements

Education

A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field is required specialized investment analysis education and training preferred.

Experience

A minimum of two (2) years' experience in Wealth Management/Trust Dept. operations or sales preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills.
  • Excellent mathematics skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of investment and trust related products and services.
  • Moderate knowledge of trust operations which impact the trust and investment services function.
  • Strong PC skills including familiarity with Customer Relationship Management, database research, and digital financial planning tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs to move through the different floors of the location.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than two-thirds of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally adjust or move objects in all directions.
  • Frequently communicates with others to exchange information.
