OCU offers degree programs for residential undergraduate students, graduate students, and adult and online students.   Position Assistant-Associate Professor: Early and Middle Childhood Math and Science   Location Main Campus   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Description POSITION SUMMARY Ohio Christian University is looking for a faculty member who can provide instruction in mathematical theory, math methods for early and middle childhood, various math subjects and/or instruction in science methods for middle childhood, and integrated science/social studies. Reports to: Associate Dean of Education Salary Range: Dependent upon experience Location: Full time, On Site, at Circleville, Ohio Duties and Responsibilities Teach courses in various mathematical disciplines including methods of teaching math Teach courses in science methods and integrated science/social studies Classroom observation and field placement supervision Serve as faculty member in Teacher Education Curriculum development for mathematics and sciences Develop outcome measurements and assess student learning Participate in university service and committees as outlined in Faculty Handbook Maintain relationships with professional organizations in disciplinary area Maintain currency in disciplinary field Mentor and advise students Other duties as assigned Desired Qualifications According to Ohio Christian University employment policy, all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle Statement. Education, Training and Experience: Doctorate preferred; Masters degree required in educational content area 3-5 years experience in teaching at a private or public school Experience preferred in teaching at the college/university level Familiarity with current research, publications, and pedagogy in the discipline Curriculum development experience Excellent organizational and team-building skills Capable communicator in both group and individual settings Skill and Ability to: Strong organizational skills, well disciplined, able to work under pressure of many priorities and meet deadlines Knowledge of long-range planning processes Highly developed interpersonal skills, ability to meet people with ease Additional Qualifications: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
