SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Service Contracts the Custodial Training Manager is responsible for all Custodial training throughout Opportunity Village campuses and community sites. The Custodial Training Manager leads the training and advocacy support for participants in the Custodial Training Program known to OV as “Custodial U”. The Custodial Training Manager is responsible to manage the In House Teams ensuring proper staffing, cleanliness, product inventory and quality assurance at every OV campus and residential facility. The Custodial Manager will assist the Managers as needed and fill in if they are not available to work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop Custodial U Curriculum
  2. Curate and develop content for various learning models
  3. Establish Learning Management System and tracking method for all participants within the program
  4. Responsible for providing training to participants in the custodial training program.
  5. Providing guidance, feedback and insight as to how job tasks might be completed in a more effective and efficient manner.
  6. Document and assess participants’ performance regularly.
  7. Oversees supervisors to ensure compliance of scope of work (SOW) for every contract.       Will be proficient and knowledgeable in the tasks and frequencies of each contract.  Will continuously evaluate contracts and develop improvement plans (corrective action) as required
  8. Assists with employee recruitment, development and retention.
  9. Responsible for developing and maintaining a good working relationship with contract representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and contract retention.
  10. Liaison with Program Services, Case Management and Service Contracts Managers to assess and progress participants through the Custodial Training Program.
  11. Identify and support participant’s short-term and long-term career goals.
  12. Communicate with individuals’ support team, this includes but is not limited to: management team, job development team, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, Desert Regional Center, RTC and parents/guardians/family members.
  13. Responsible for working with participants to expand and enhance their job skills in preparation for more lucrative employment within the Agency or employment in the “real-world” setting. 
  14. Prepare all necessary documentation including but not limited to, quarterly reports; incident reports; ID notes; monthly training reports; maintain and submit daily attendance and RTC ride manifest for all individuals in the program.
  15. Attend participant’s Annual Person Centered Planning meetings.
  16. Responsible for assuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and company policies and procedures.
  17. Support Assistant Director with program, plan and staff development.
  18. Ensures department compliance with all Federal and State regulations, company and division policies and procedures, health and safety rules and regulations.
  19. Assists with all building and grounds maintenance at the various Opportunity Village locations and Preventative Maintenance Plan.
  20. Purchases goods and services related to the training curriculum.
  21. Member of Safety Committee; address any concerns including government, health, safety, and OSHA requirements.
  22. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises all Custodial Staff and clients that are attending Custodial U and assists Service Contracts Managers as needed.

 

 

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects.
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Ability to think critically: define problems and draw valid conclusions, analyze, and interpret information and provide recommendations.  
  • Ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from the business community and the public, as well as from staff and disabled workers.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to perform basic accounting techniques and budget development.
  • Computer literate and familiar with business and project planning software, proficient with Microsoft Office suite to include: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point.
  • Knowledge of Custodial Operations including Floor Care procedures and equipment.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Required: Minimum one (1) year work experience in related field in custodial field and/or training.
  • Required: A Valid Nevada Driver’s License with a clean annual driving history.
  • Required: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification is required or the ability to supply certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Required: Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred: Experience in Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, Customer Service, Business Management, or Public Relations are preferred.
