Position Overview

The Data Analyst will be a member of the SB CIN Population Health IT Team. This individual will work in a fast-paced environment as part of a multi-disciplinary project team acquiring data from multiple participants of the CIN Program assisting with data ingestion, validation and mapping into the Population Health Platform.  The Analyst will be responsible for developing SQL queries used to generate reports, create data marts and perform analytics against the data that has been successfully loaded into the platform.

The successful candidate will bring a balance of creative problem solving, hands-on data analytics, manipulation and practical software integration skills. The candidate will also be responsible for helping provide technical support for Cerner’s Population Health Management suite of products, HealtheRegistries, HealtheAnalytics, HealtheEDW and HealtheCare.
 

The Data Analyst will be responsible to maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of Managed Care and ACO program measure specifications and compliance requirements.

This team member will participate and contribute to all CIN software development project lifecycle tasks including requirements, analysis, solution design, development, testing, training, implementation and support. 

The Analyst will provide support in making strategic data-related decisions by analyzing data, finding actionable insights, and working with leaders and stakeholders to drive change.

Position Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, other applied science field.

Minimum of 5 years professional experience in a technical/data analyst role in a data driven environment.

Proficient knowledge of SQL –

Working with SQL server and Oracle; able to write sound, efficient, and proper SQL statements ensuring stability, reliability, and performance of databases.

Experience with stored procedures and able to query complex datasets and derive conclusions, including using all types of joins between multiple tables.

Skilled at optimizing large complicated SQL statements and knowledge of best practices.

3+ years’ experience in data mining, large scale data acquisition, transformation, and cleaning, both structured and unstructured data.

Experience with data modelling, data structure principles and designing database tables that facilitate efficient information retrieval.

Competency in data manipulation and analysis; accessing raw data in varied formats with different methods and analyzing and processing data.

The Data Analyst must have programming proficiency with analytical platform software and BI systems expertise including but not limited to Business Objects, SQL and Tableau.

Considerable experience with statistical tools and methods to incorporate statistical results into analyses.

Ability to turn vague concepts and asks into well-documented and effective business metrics and insights.

Strong knowledge and comfort level with Excel.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully
perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and
medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
This position is active and requires the employee to constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff and
medical providers.

In accordance with the New York State Department of Health (DOH) order that all hospitals and nursing homes “continuously require all covered personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.” Upon receipt of a conditional job offer, candidates who are not already vaccinated must obtain the first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of job offer and must obtain any subsequent doses in accordance with the vaccine protocol.
