Description

Job Summary

Responsible to manage the successful execution of all project activities in accordance with all Company policies, procedures and key objectives, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Manages and coordinates all assigned project work and provides work assistance as needed. Communicates all appropriate information with Company management.
  • Understands and complies with all communications and other requirements according to union bargaining agreements.
  • Coordinates and facilitates team meetings as required and inputs unit tracking and time cards DAILY as appropriate.
  • Monitors and tracks all locates, inputs equipment hours and odometer readings into appropriate systems. Tracks all equipment maintenance and service work as needed.
  • Plans ahead, tracks usage and inventories to ensure all appropriate tools, materials and resources are available as needed. Addresses issues related to improper use of tools or materials.
  • Ensures assigned project work complies with all customer and Company expectations and specifications.
  • Utilizes the company planning systems and other LEAN tools to accomplish project goals. Implements LEAN concepts and methodologies for continuous improvement of operations processes and activities. Educates others on LEAN approaches.
  • Consults with field personnel on technical, installation and code-related questions and issues. Coaches and assists field personnel on installation efficiencies.
  • Collaborates with safety team to identify potential hazards and correct unsafe working conditions. Educates and implements proactive safety measures per Company requirements and OSHA standards. Conducts safety audits as scheduled and required. Ensures all employees are following all required safety policies and practices.
  • Provides high quality hiring, coaching, training, communications, mentoring and teambuilding to staff and other co-workers as needed. Provides performance feedback regularly. Addresses people issues as they arise and involves the necessary resources to resolve problems.
  • Develops leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities. Establishes and nurtures a positive teamwork environment.
  • Creates and maintains positive relationships and open communications with senior management, project team, customers, sub-contractors, architects, vendors, other trades, union representatives, office and field staff.
  • Supports the mission, vision and values of the Company and works creatively to best support the Company's long-term goals. Champions and models the Company culture at all times.
  • Maintains compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations relevant to the industry.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Follows all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the Company.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The ability to review progress at construction sites in all phases of construction is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The ability to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for 8+ hours per day is required. Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities of close, distance, color, peripheral vision and depth perception and ability to adjust focus are required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing people.
  • Holds a valid state electrical license.
  • Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices.
  • Skills to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, blueprints and specifications.
  • Keen knowledge of construction and general industry safety standards.
  • In-depth project management experience. Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
