Part-Time Instructor, HVAC - Commercial Refrigeration 

Description
  1. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.
  2. Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
  3. Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
  4. Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
  5. Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are in place prior to the class start date.
  6. Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. – prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.)
  7. Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Tech’s Adult Career Development program.
  8. Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
 
Position Requirements
  • At least 5 years experience operating, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment.
  • State of Oklahoma Journeyman's license is required; State of Oklahoma Contractor's license preferred.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to install and maintain residential and commercial cooling and heating systems.
  • Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in the repair of heating and air conditioning equipment in residential and light commercial buildings.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in training and teaching others.
  • The work schedule for this position requires flexibility to work one to two nights per week, 6 - 10 pm, as scheduled throughout the spring, summer and fall semesters.

Salary Schedule Standard Rate Schedule for Non-Regular (Temporary, Adjunct, Substitute) and Regular Part-Time Employees  
Hiring Range $35/hr

About the Organization Tulsa Tech is the oldest and largest career & technical training center in OK. We are an independent public school district, with multiple campuses in the Tulsa County area.
