Share Email Opening Title Sales Associate   Description The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures furthers the understanding, celebration, and preservation of cinema through inclusive and accessible exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives, and collections. Welcoming visitors from Los Angeles and around the world, the Museum works in active partnership with motion picture artists and specialists, scholars, staff, and diverse communities to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema, inspiring discourse, connection, joy, and discovery. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Sales Associate will assist in creating a positive shopping experience for visitors and customers. This position is represented by a union. You Will: Deliver high standards of customer service by developing and maintaining comprehensive product knowledge including how the product offering relates to the museum programming, exhibitions, and collections. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff. Straighten, clean, and help maintain organization and replenishment of stock on the sales floor and back-of-house. Provide assistance with picking, packing, and fulfilling web orders as needed. Assist with the day-of execution of book signings and other retail-related events. Complete all required ongoing training, including security training, audience engagement and collection training, visitor orientation training, and product information training. Model reliability and flexibility by being able to work varied hours and days to meet the needs of the business.   Position Requirements You Have: A high school diploma or equivalent certificate of completion. 1+ years of customer service and/or retail experience preferred. Able to effectively communicate. Able to work effectively with others in a team-oriented environment and provide excellent customer service. Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and weekends.   Physical Requirements: Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
