Brownells is seeking an experienced DevOps Manager with expertise in Infrastructure as Code, Source Code Management, Azure Cloud Management, Governance, M365 Support (InTune, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online), and leading infrastructure operational support teams. As the DevOps Manager, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of services, and improving the performance of our systems and applications. You will work closely with the DevOps development team to streamline the software delivery process, automate build and deployment pipelines, and ensure smooth code integration and testing. In addition, you will provide leading infrastructure operational support, maintain a secure and compliant cloud environment, ensure regulatory compliance and governance, and provide M365 support including InTune, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online.

What You Will Do

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of DevOps engineers responsible for deploying and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability of our systems
  • Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Chef, to automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management
  • Implement source code management strategies using Git or other relevant tools to manage and version control code changes
  • Collaborate with the development team to streamline the software delivery process, automate build and deployment pipelines, and ensure smooth code integration and testing
  • Provide leading infrastructure operational support, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues, working closely with the engineering team to identify and resolve infrastructure-related problems
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements, implement cloud governance policies, and maintain a secure and compliant cloud environment
  • Provide M365 support including InTune, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online, ensuring that our M365 environment is secure, compliant, and optimized
  • Work with Azure DevOps or Jira to track and manage work items, including user stories, bugs, tasks, and ensure that development work is appropriately tracked and reported
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluate new tools and technologies, and recommend improvements to our DevOps practices

 

What You Will Need

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a DevOps or Infrastructure as Code role
  • Minimum AA/AS degree in related field is highly preferred, however 2+ years of additional relevant experience may be substituted
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Chef, and proficiency in one or more programming languages like Python, Ruby, or Bash
  • Expertise in source code management using Git or other relevant tools, and experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud management, including experience with Azure Resource Manager, Azure Virtual Machines, and Azure Functions
  • Experience in leading infrastructure operational support, with the ability to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring regulatory compliance and governance
  • Experience providing M365 support, including InTune, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online, ensuring a secure, compliant, and optimized environment

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, compliance requirements, and governance frameworks
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders

 

Cloud certificates in one or more of the following areas is desired but not required:

  • One or more certifications in Azure, such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Other cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, are also beneficial

 

Physical Demands

Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
