Description

Phoenix Alternatives, Inc. (PAI), a leading provider of day services for adults with developmental disabilities, has a need for a creative and strategic leader to establish an Individualized Home Supports and Respite Program at our White Bear Lake location. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your vision and innovation in developing a new and exciting service.

The Organization

Founded in 1990, PAI provides services that empower the individual choices of adults with disabilities to achieve meaningful participation in and connection to the community. We enhance personal, community, and employment connections through a variety of innovative services including community exploration and enrichment, life skills training, vocational skill development, job training and coaching, employment placement services, community and/or on-site employment, music and pet therapy, and utilizing technology.

The Opportunity

As a key leader in PAI, you will establish an Individualized Home Supports and Respite program including program design, interfacing with participants, potential participants and their representatives, supervising staff, collaborating with other leaders regarding business performance, and (initially) managing a personal case load.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other PAI leaders regarding strategic and tactical planning of program design, budget, objectives, and results.
  • Develop and implement Person-Centered and HCBS services as selected by program participants.
  • Act as liaison to program participants, their support systems, employers, and agencies to maintain desired program and support services.
  • Facilitate the development of each person's coordinated services and supports plan and Person-Centered Services, and design the program's service plan in cooperation with the participant and his/her representatives.
  • Hire, train, and manage staff.
  • Participate in and contribute to business reviews, report and manage operational metrics and drivers, and oversee relevant business processes, supported by the COO/VP of Operations.
  • Ensure that program services meet licensing and HCBS requirements.
  • Initially manage a personal case load.
 
Position Requirements

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, relevant healthcare field, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Five years of experience providing services for adults with developmental disabilities.
  • One year of experience with Individualized Home Supports services.
  • One year of experience leading or managing staff.
  • Program management experience.
  • Supportive, inclusive leadership style, “roll up your sleeves” orientation.
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively and collaboratively throughout the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Impeccable ethics and integrity.
  • Innovation and creativity.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Pass a DHS Background study and Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and maintain clearance to provide direct contact services without continuous supervision.
  • Solid skills in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and apply other systems for recruiting, payroll, etc.
  • Reliable transportation for work driving purposes, valid driver's license, proof of valid car insurance, satisfy insurance criteria for driving history and permit driving record checks as needed.
  • Requirements to drive a personal vehicle: reliable transportation for work driving purposes, valid driver's license, and proof of valid car insurance.

Salary:

  • $60,000-$65,000 annually
