Share Email Opening Title Adult Behavioral Health Case Manager  Category Case Management   Description Responds to needs of long-term mentally ill adults who participate in case management activities of CMCSB.  Duties include planning the delivery of case management services to meet assessed needs, linking individuals to planned services and resources within the community, coordinating services and plans with collateral agencies and providers, monitoring individuals’ progress towards identified service plans and goals, advocating for needed resources and services for individuals, providing basic counseling services, making home visits to individuals receiving services, providing information and education to individuals receiving services regarding psychiatric illnesses, performing all administrative functions necessary to carry out the above services with an emphasis on records documentation and the timely submission of required service reports, managing aggressive behavior of individuals receiving services utilizing approved techniques, participating in continuing education programs to enhance professional competency, and transporting individuals receiving services to needed services and related functions, as necessary.   Position Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in social work/psychology or related human service field and one year of direct clinical experience, or RN license and at least one year of direct clinical experience required.  Candidate must meet QMHP guidelines.  Effective problem solving and decision making skills.   Ability to effectively intervene in a crisis situation.     Good written and oral communication skills.   Knowledge of local human service resources.  Ability to use independent judgement and discretion in the assignment of duties.  Good organizational and time management skills.   Good computer skills and ability to effectively use electronic health record system.  Ability to work flexible hours.   Current valid driver’s license and good driving record.    Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Shift -not applicable-   Tags   Travel Requirements Must travel to and from meetings and other locations as necessary.   Position Adult Behavioral Health Case Manager   Close Date   Number of Openings 2   Req Number CAS-23-00007   Open Date 4/13/2023   Location Main Office A   About the Organization CMCSB was formed in 1972 as a Chapter 10 Community Services Board under Virginia law. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
