Your role at MOBE

As an ETL (Extract Transform and Load) Engineer, you will play a key role in the DevOps team, responsible for the development and support of data transformation and data movement within the MOBE environment.

Along with other ETL Engineers, Quality Testers, and Operations teammates, you will ensure the following capabilities and functions:

  • MOBE's systems are integrated by moving and processing data accurately in a timely fashion, in real-time or as batch processes.
  • Data processing and inter-dependencies are clearly defined and documented.
  • Data Quality and consistency is maintained across all the MOBE systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops new and enhance existing data transformation jobs to support business processes and integration of multiple business systems, primary using Talend, MS SQL, S3, and Redshift technologies.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to define new solutions to business or operational challenges.
  • Investigates and diagnoses root causes of service issues and drives resolution of issues.
  • Drives completion of projects and initiatives, follows through on execution of chosen strategies and demonstrates the ability to stay the course despite obstacles.
  • Identifies and constructively communicates the need for improvements or enhancements in MOBE technology assets.
  • Pays attention to details resulting in high-quality results, clean code, and well-organized reusable solutions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional organizations.
  • All other duties as assigned to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by MOBE's Guiding Principles.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related discipline, or relevant experience.
  • A minimum of three years’ related work experience, with a minimum of two years’ experience in ETL development/support.
  • Deep understanding of implementation of file-based ingestion, data extraction, and job scheduling using Talend.
  • Proficient with SQL and Java.
  • Knowledge of Data Integration with SaaS platforms (especially Salesforce) using technologies like REST, SOAP, XML, and JSON.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, and ability to influence course of action to drive results.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools and applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex technical concepts to colleagues and management.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience in Talend Development or similar development tools.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of data models and processing related to Health Insurance claims processing.
  • Experience developing using Agile processes and tools like Jira.
  • Experience using Amazon Web Services Databases (RDS and Redshift).
  • Experience with other ETL or Database products and services.
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts & technology – data modeling, SQL query optimization, and data warehouse architecture.
  • Familiarity with encryption tools like PGP.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery.
