TITLE: CAMP BUILDING AND GROUNDS SPECIALIST
JOB SUMMARY:
The Camp Building and Grounds Specialist is responsible for the repair, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety of all camp facilities and grounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs of buildings and equipment.

Perform janitorial and general maintenance duties.

Work with the Camp Director to order maintenance and cleaning supplies within budget, and estimate and
execute facilities projects and maintenance within budget.

Assist in maintaining the grounds at camp.

Be aware of and make necessary changes to hazards found on camp grounds.

Work with Head Rigger to assist with tents and technical as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Coordinate activities with other staff in order to carry out the mission of Circus Smirkus.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Self-starter and organizer

Good communication skills and ability to handle competing priorities

Demonstrated ability to work with individuals in all age groups, including children

Ability to safely and properly use power tools and equipment
-
Ability to perform light carpentry and painting
-
Broad knowledge of maintenance and repair tasks
-
Knowledge of plumbing and small engine repair is a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working Conditions: work is normally conducted both indoors and outdoors, in the camp dormitories, farmhouse and grounds of camp.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, hearing and communicating effectively. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying equipment. Work involves lifting and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Potential use of basic power tools.
