WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

As an IT System Administrator, you will be an integral part of the Information Technology team and work closely with the business to provide exceptional support and assist with modernizing our solutions.

  • Administers systems and servers related to the organization's infrastructure and network for the purpose of ensuring availability and reliability of services to authorized users.
  • Designs network infrastructure for the purpose of ensuring effective and efficient networking systems.
  • In conjunction with managed service providers and vendors, maintains network operations, server management, software applications, file/server level backups, routine maintenance programs, and general system support.
  • Manages servers and network resources including network applications to deliver services in compliance with established guidelines and/or objectives.
  • Participates in project management and continuous improvement of systems, to the effect of creating ongoing plans for our environment to support the growing needs and requirements of the business.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for ensuring the efficient and effective functions of business units.
  • Prepares written materials (e.g. procedures, system level documentation, reports, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  • Recommends equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of acquiring required items and completing jobs efficiently.
  • Research trends, products, equipment, tests, etc. for the purpose of recommending procedures and/or purchases.
  • Responds to emergency situations as needed for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. staff, outside vendors and service providers, etc.) for the purpose of providing technical assistance and support.
 
Position Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL REQUIRE:

Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: At least 4-5 years of experience in a similar IT System Administrator role, with experience in network, system, and security administration.

Technical skills: Proficiency in Windows operating system, virtualization technologies such as VMware, network protocols and infrastructure, and security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and backup solutions.

Certifications: One or more relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).

Soft skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, strong problem-solving skills, and a business-focused attitude. Ability to communicate technical problems with non-technical associates.

Availability: Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, be available for emergency support, and always open to learning.
