Objective: The account manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth and profitability throughout the assigned territory.


  • Sell the complete line of technology solutions (systems and peripherals, enterprise servers and storage, networking, security, software licensing and software solutions, and managed and professional services) to the public sector segment
  • Develop and manage new accounts through aggressive prospecting and networking while maintaining and sustaining successful ongoing relationships with key decision makers.
  • Develop, maintain, and leverage strong relationships with our manufacturers and distributors
  • Understand and utilize contracts and pricing structures within an assigned territory
  • Meet sales goals, develop account strategy and pipeline, negotiate pricing, discuss sales planning, manage processes, maintain sales reports, develop market and competitor knowledge, deliver presentations to customers, and create sales proposals and respond to RFPs and RFQs.
Position Requirements


  • Minimum of  3+ years of outside sales experience selling technology solutions to public sector markets (K-12, Higher Ed, and State and Local).
  • Strong track record selling IT hardware, software and services through aggressive prospecting, cold calling, and networking.
  • Ability to quote and close IT solutions by utilizing internal support tools and external resources.
  • Ability to build and manage a robust pipeline within an assigned territory.
  • Experience with managed and professional services a plus.
  • Experience working at a Value Added Reseller or Systems Integrator is highly preferred.
