Position summary: The Ink & Adhesive Technician is a hands-on position. The primary job of an Ink & Adhesive Technician will include but is not limited to mixing adhesives and inks, cycle counting for inks, adhesives, catalyzers, and solvents in the designated location within the print and lamination department. Other duties involved with this position will include assisting in material moving, disposing of hazardous waste (according to local, state, and federal requirements), performing quality testing, recordkeeping, covering breaks/lunches while complying with the production schedule and company policies and procedures. Effective communication should be established between team members as well as with other shifts and direct supervisors. Ohio Pack adopted a 'Clean as you Go' policy so all work areas should be kept clean, organized, and safe to comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Produce enough ink/adhesive to fulfill production needs for the day.
  • Record materials usage in IFS system
  • Issue materials using IFS systems
  • Receive materials using IFS system
  • Operate weigh scales.
  • Operate proofing machine.
  • Ensure press has changeover parts ready.
  • Ensure work area is organized, labeled and clean.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of adhesives, inks, catalyzers, and solvents.
  • Help all setup activities as requested.
  • Manage noninventory items.
  • Clean parts as needed.
  • Participate in various continuous improvement activities.
  • Be a part of corrective action teams as needed.
  • Report any potential food safety or quality of food defense concerns to the immediate supervisor or quality personnel.
  • Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Maintain product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality systems.
  • Must follow all company policies and procedures.
  • This is a safety sensitive position (drug test may be required)
  • Perform quality checks as needed.
  • Compile all the procedures needed to comply with OSHA's regulations.
  • Assist in the training of all new operators and temporary employees and document all training provided.
  • Complete all necessary production paperwork.
  • All other duties as required
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of metric conversions, measurements, and basic math skills
  • Ability to perform basic data entry/computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player.
  • Quality-oriented mindset
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Willing and eagerness to learn.

Qualifications desired:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing
  • Previous experience in ink mixing environment.
  • Previous experience with color matching
