Candidate Profile
Hilldrup has an immediate need for a seasoned and innovative operations leader with previous Final Mile and or Warehousing industry experience. The ideal candidate will be strategic and results-oriented, with exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills and proven management experience. The selected candidate will report to our Garner, NC office. The incumbent will oversee all Final Mile warehouse and delivery operations with a focus on quality, financial performance, and the delivery of outstanding customer service.


Specific job responsibilities include:

  1. Effectively manage warehouse operations and workforce planning.
  2. Assist with developing branch Final Mile strategies that drive profitable revenue goal achievement and maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  3. Partner with Vice-President/General Manager in the development of branch budget; effectively utilizing financial tools to monitor budgets.
  4. Work with the Vice-President/General manager to develop and monitor KPI's to ensure continuous improvement goals are met.
  5. Manage local Claims (liability goal-setting, investigation, review, and resolution) in partnership with the corporate office Quality team.
  6. Ensure safety, fleet maintenance, and operational efficiency, including safety compliance for local delivery teams.
  7. Recruit, assess, develop, and conduct performance management of top-notch customer service-oriented warehouse operations team.
  8. Develop and deliver service providers training (in partnership with corporate office), and lead other HR and Marketing initiatives.
  9. Directly supervise the Final Mile warehouse team, router and customer service team. With indirect oversight of a team of drivers and IC's.
  10. Effective communications with the warehouse operations team and corporate partners via regular team meetings and practical reporting.
  11. Adopt Final Mile best practices and organizational growth and profitability goals.
 
Position Requirements
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university, preferably with a concentration in business, logistics, and/or transportation or equivalent work experience;
  • 3-5 years of operations experience in the logistics industry;
  • Proven leadership experience, managing salaried and hourly associates;
  • In-depth understanding of industry best practices and efficiencies;
  • Outstanding financial and business acumen;
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to effectively develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team;
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Adept regarding the use of technology;
  • Commitment to highest ethical practices;
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements;
  • Valid driver’s license.
