Position Summary:

The Information Systems Administrator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all computer systems, data and voice communications activities on property. This position will exhibit excellence in cultivating the Edgewood Vision by executing both employee and guest engagement standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain harmonious and professional relationships with all departments.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to all levels of staff.
  • Must be able to assist hotel guests with technical requirements and issues.
  • Must be able to provide high levels of service and support to admin users as per contracted Service Level Agreement.
  • Ensure critical systems, specifically Front Office Property Management System, Call Accounting, HSIA, PBX and Food and Beverage Point of Sales computer systems are available for property operations.
  • Establish and maintain user procedures and hardware familiarization for all systems.
  • Provide Systems Administration, including maintaining user/group accounts, user configuration, trouble-shooting access problems and completion of on-site documentation.
  • Assist in compute end-point infrastructure management, performance monitoring, Operating Systems upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure effective support for other systems, including back office, sales and catering and human resource applications and any other at the property.
  • Provide system support services, including service outage diagnosis, troubleshooting, and restoration of service, virus protection management.
  • Develops job aids for tasks performed in software applications. Sets up batch files or procedures to facilitate software installation by other support staff or to help users in their specific tasks.
  • Assist in the coordination of new acquisitions and projects as required.
  • Good knowledge and support for Desktop OS and applications including anti-virus, security patches.
  • Provide direct guest support and quality support to function rooms and conference services.
  • Administer Office 365 and support email setup on desktop, mobile, and cloud applications.
  • Assist in the coordination of third party vendors.
  • Assist at network support and security of Hotel network, Active Directory maintenance, Server Infrastructure maintenance, Network Infrastructure maintenance – wired & wireless, Network protection and failover tools implementation (Firewall, web security, multi-homing devices, etc.)
  • Recommend new applications as requested by hotels to streamline business processes.
  • Implement technology “best practices”.
  • Provide HSIA Guest and Customer support when no contract with third parties exists.
Position Requirements
  • Position requires an AA/AS degree in computer related field plus two years relevant experience; a BA/BS degree in computer science or related discipline; or the combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
  • Requires special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users.
  • Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment.
  • Requires experience with personal computer equipment. Must have advanced personal computer word processing, spreadsheet, database, DOS and Windows skills.
  • Prefer a working understanding of the Hotel and individual department operations, goals and objectives relating to Computer & Communications Services.
  • Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain all of the software applications and peripheral equipment used at the college.
  • Must have strong communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users.

  • Prior education and/or experience supporting complex networks
  • Available to work varied shifts when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
