Essential Functions:

  • Patrol Grounds
  • Know when to call the police
  • Preserve peace until law enforcement arrive
  • Handle situations calmly and orderly
  • Ability to ignore personal criticism
  • Watch for shoplifters
  • Monitor surveillance videos
  • Work with law enforcement to ensure safety and govern property
  • Monitor the Goodwill property
  • Submit reports to executive officials about incidents or event concerning the safety of Goodwill Industries
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record
Position Requirements


  • Possess proficient skills with computer systems
  • Understand register reports
  • A background in law enforcement or private investigation is preferred
  • Ability to focus for long periods of time.
  • The ability to use discretion and common sense when needed
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, bend, kneel and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Primary duties are performed in an office environment.
  • He or she may be required to sit in a vehicle for long periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Will possibly be working alongside others with social, mental, and emotional disabilities.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of technical training or college courses through intermediate accounting preferred.
  • Experience working in a retail environment
