Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (03092023FSOI)

Location: Chicago, IL

Position Type: Telemed/Onsite

Availability: Part-Time/Full-Time

Behavioral health facility looking for a Onsite Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing outpatient care to patients showing a change or decline in mental status, chronic or urgent psychiatric conditions.

Work independently with other members of the medical team, with entitlements to specific clinical privileges.

Take part in an interdisciplinary team that provides psychiatric care to patients

Perform patients’ psychiatric evaluations, risk factor assessment, ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests; and attend to consultations and appointments.

Prescribe medications following the FSOI policy, formulary and relevant regulations of the District of Columbia.

Consult with Medical Director on cases that are beyond the scope of qualification of PMHNP.

Put all relevant patient data in medical records.

Provide consultation to the clinic’s nursing and other staff for improvement in their work performance, which enhances overall quality service delivery of the clinic.

Conducts himself/herself at high standard of professionalism and abides by FSOI Code of Conduct of Ethical Behavior.  Abide by confidentiality rules of protected health information and observes all client rights.

DOCUMENTATION:

Makes sure that all reports required are completed and submitted on a timely basis. Copies are maintained appropriately, if applicable, as required by laws and regulations.  Monitors compliance of all staff providing Pharmacologic Management or support services to the program.

Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensure:    

Possess and maintain graduate professional nurse, and nurse practitioner registration in the District of Columbia, which must be unrestricted, current, complete, and active.

Obtain Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Possess Bachelor’s degree in Nursing followed by a Master’s degree in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing from a state approved and accredited school for professional nursing training.

Possess strong understanding of societies and their impact on mental health; ability to solve problems, monitor and examine patients.

Be compassionate, sensitive, and possess strong reasoning and thinking skills

Possess strong computer skills, including working with word processing and data entering applications, as well as with medical software applications

Ability to work effectively with medical equipment.

Certification:    Able to participate in Verbal/Physical De-escalation; and FSOI required professional development trainings.

Other:              Valid Driver’s License.  Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks and employment drug screen.
