Leads routine network support tasks and projects and assist with advanced network administration workload (advanced troubleshooting, advanced environment documentation disaster recovery planning and testing, advanced server hardware and software setups). Work to ensure a more reliable and secure network (SNMP, network management environment, security issues, updates, patches and testing). Assist with W2K3 administration (DNS, DHCP, AD, group policies, troubleshooting and testing).
Lead in completion of projects in coordination with IT Director.
Perform and direct system administration tasks for ongoing operations on all servers.
Assist Systems Administrator I in coordination of the installation of server systems and LOB applications.
Administer Storage Area Network (SAN).
Provide advanced network support for line of business applications (Acuprint, WLT, Waste works, Track-It! And Backup Exec).
Ensure efficient and effective data backup of all Windows-based network servers.
Plan for future expansion and coordinate with IT Support Manager on network growth and resource utilization.
Maintains maps and other network documentation.
Administers Exchange, VMWare, Track-it!, OWA, IIS, Active Directory, DNS, Terminal Services, DC's, AppAssure, Print Servers and Network Printing, LOB applications, SQL and Oracle Databases and other Windows applications and services.
Maintain maintenance and change management logs.
Monitor security warnings and take action to ensure security on all systems.
Monitor event logs for errors on all servers and implement corrective action.
Initiate actions necessary to repair/replace defective equipment and software.
Troubleshoot network problems.
Evaluate new products.
Train and mentor Network Administration staff.
