Responsibilites: To manage the rehabilitation (rehab) department at the facility level in accordance with all current applicable state and federal guidelines and regulations to ensure quality, efficient, and outcome based resident care. Key Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in one of the therapy disciplines (PTA, OT or SLP); Associates degree in PTA or OTA. Holder of current state licensure in specific discipline. Clinical knowledge obtained from an accredited PT, PTA, OT, or SLP program. Working knowledge of PPS, Medicare, and Managed Care programs; OBRA, OSHA, and state regulatory agency requirements. Knowledge of state PT, OT, and ST practice acts. Two to three years of clinical experience, with geriatric experience preferred. Knowledge of the health care needs of the skilled nursing facility resident and others in need of rehabilitation and other providers of health care services. Knowledge of reimbursement services in long term care, hospital and outpatient settings. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work with and supervise other personnel. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels; requires excellent interpersonal skills.
