Administer Masonic's employee benefits and provide HR generalist support.  Benefits administration includes retirement plans, leave policies, workers' compensation, and insurance policies such as health, life, and disability. The HR Generalist will be joining a small corporate HR team who pitch in to help each other on a variety of projects including employee relations, orientation, training, and administrative duties. Be a part of implementing new HRIS and ATS systems. There is a lot of variety with this position!

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Benefits

  • Administer employee benefits and keep the HRIS benefits software up to date and running smoothly.
  • Assist with planning and evaluating benefit offerings to meet employee engagement and retention goals.
  • Provide excellent service to employees by addressing questions and issues timely.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and submit for payment.
  • Manage worker’s compensation process and work closely with the Sr. VP of Risk Management to resolve issues and review policies.
  • Participate in the benefits plan renewal process and develop implementation plan.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations including the ACA and OSHA.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
  • Create how-to guides and educate community and HR leaders as appropriate.

 

Human Resources

  • Conduct orientation and assist with employee onboarding.
  • Assist with employee relations and advise community HR leaders as appropriate.
  • Coordinate employee recognition events as requested.
  • Provide administrative support to corporate HR team.
  • Collect, and analyze key HR and benefits data to support improved employee retention.
  • Maintain corporate employee files.
  • Provide back-up coverage for other HR team and corporate business office manager.
  • Assist with special events as needed and attend functions as requested.
  • Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP or willing to obtain within one year of employment

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and competence in a variety of systems and software applications.
  • How to collect and analyze data to ensure effective decision making.
  • Knowledge of government regulations related to employee benefits and human resources.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience with MS Office

Experience Required:

2+ years in a related role with basic benefit administration experience and increasing knowledge of human resources generalist duties. 

Healthcare experience preferred, but not required.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Data collection and data analysis skills.
  • Comfortable with new technology.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential situations appropriately.
  • Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy, including in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Able to work well independently.
  • Able to assist and coordinate with others.
