Share Email Opening Title Transportation Supervisor  Post Internal Days 0   Description Essential Functions: The Supervisor must be qualified to drive commercial vehicle; Supervise Truck Drivers to ensure compliance with all transportation procedures; Supervise the activities of Material Handlers to ensure compliance with all procedures related to operations of the plant; Help load and unload trucks, as necessary; Appropriately route all donated items; Respond to requests from stores and ADCs for material and supplies in a timely manner; Inspect all Company-owned and leased vehicles for damage on a shift basis and/or in the event of a change of driver assignment; Report all property damage immediately, review and submit written accident reports; Complete daily and weekly paperwork and accurately report results to management; Maintain cleanliness and order in the plant; Participate in providing new hire training to staff and ongoing training to ensure all staff are familiar with department and Company procedures, Ensure that staff complies with Company policies and procedures; All personnel decisions (manpower, staffing, equipment, disciplinary, etc.) must go through the VP of Transportation; Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record; Participate in staff meetings and training, as required; Perform other duties as assigned. While performing this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, push, talk and hear, taste and smell. Most activities involve repetitive upper body movement and bending. The employee must on occasion lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds. Must have good hand-eye coordination.
