Description

OVERVIEW

This is a summer internship focused on development of the UCC Archives. The primary tasks of the intern will be to complete archival processing of one or more small institutional collections, including arrangement and description; digitization of UCC publications for preservation and access; and assist in the selection and installation of artifacts for the Minnie’s Seaside Rest Museum.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of archival arrangement and description standards;
  • Proficient computer skills with a focus on databases and Microsoft Office, particularly use of Excel and Sharepoint;
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills;
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.;
  • Interest in gaining experience with description and access of archival collections;
  • Student enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in History or Library Science.

Additional Information:

  • This internship will be done onsite at the UCC Archives, Cleveland, Ohio.
  • Duration of internship: 10 weeks at 20 hours a week
  • $15.00/hour taxable income

  • Expected start date: June 5-August 14, 2023.
