Summary

Under the direct supervision of the VP of Risk Management, this position will be responsible for the activities involved in assuring the quality of all products, services, procedures and policies are followed to meet department and organization objectives. The day-to-day work involves careful inspections, the enforcement of quality standards, the understanding of all organization policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide oversight for departments; coordinates all facets of communication with external auditors concerning the quality assurance process.
  2. Manage and administer quality assurance and compliance components as they pertain to the organization.
  3. Ensure departments comply with all applicable safety rules and regulations, as well as company safety policies, procedures and standards.
  4. Navigate agency policies and procedures with knowledge of day-to-day departmental operations.
  5. Oversee all quality assurance aspects of the food and bakery operation to include examining all documentation and service quality levels (data collected, retain samples library) program).
  6. Develop and implement standards for inspection and a workflow for product inspection.
  7. Follow up with implemented programs to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice by all employees and other persons in production locations.
  8. Aid in the administration of biological monitoring procedures to determine the efficiency of sanitation methods.
  9. Develop and implement new methods, procedures, and systems to improve quality performances.
  10. Maintain a fair and professional work environment that focuses on the business objectives, but also balances quality of work life factors for employees.
  11. Develop and maintain training and development programs that support key performance goals for the company.
  12. Manage operations to maintain SUPERIOR ratings from the annual American Institute of Baking (AIB) inspection
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

 

 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
  • Basic technical writing skills.
  • Must be a certified Safe Quality Food (SQF) Practitioner.
  • Must be trained in Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and able to train others.
  • Must be certified in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) execution and training.
  • If the required certifications (SQF and HACCP) are not complete, member must obtain them within 60-days of hire.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
