Upper School Technology Teacher

Description

We are seeking an Upper School Technology Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Candidates must display a deep knowledge of Technology and scripture and how it applies to students’ lives. Individual must also be adept at teaching students about the principles of technology and how to use basic technology tools in their work and lives.

Training in Technology Education and best practices in teaching are required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Education, or a related field from an accredited college is required, Master’s degree preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to develop authentic relationships with young adults, and to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. In addition, the position requires the ability to organize and prioritize work, resolve problems, follow through, and manage multiple priorities to ensure that goals are met. Strong technology skills are required.

  • Display a deep knowledge of Technology and its application to our lives.
  • Demonstrate an In-depth knowledge of how to incorporate technological tools and resources to facilitate student learning and achievement
  • Plan a technology education syllabus involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student exercises; organizing activities for optimal learning.
  • Teach classes assigned following prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by administration.
  • Instruct students in the proper use, care and safe handling of equipment.
  • Support teachers with the use and integration of technology into instruction.
  • Promote student engagement to inspire and encourage progress while supporting and strengthening the learning capabilities of each student.
  • Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in the classroom as well as instruction while monitoring and managing students’ behavior, including appropriate enforcement of student behavior rules.
  • Maintain records by documenting learning accomplishments, attendance, and behavior.

Performance responsibilities will be evaluated by the manager to whom this position reports in accordance with this job description and the expectations of the administrators at SCA.

Requirements:
