Beyond preparing Bible lessons and grading assignments, this applicant will also take on routine responsibilities common to all SCA teaching staff. Our teachers are responsible for fulfilling the mission of Scottsdale Christian by equipping minds through engaging, innovative instruction and nurturing hearts by mentoring young people as a spiritual leader and role model. This teacher will report directly to the principals. Training in Theology and best practices in teaching are required. A bachelor’s degree in history, the Humanities, Bible, or a related field from an accredited college is required; master’s degree preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to develop authentic relationships with young adults, and to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. In addition, the position requires the ability to organize and prioritize work, resolve problems, follow through, and manage multiple priorities to ensure that goals are met. Strong technology skills are highly recommended. Display a deep knowledge of the Bible and its application to our lives. Display the ability to connect Biblical Truth to students. Teach Bible (and/or other classes) utilizing the latest research and best practices. Promote student engagement in order to inspire and encourage progress while supporting and strengthening the learning capabilities of each student. Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in the classroom as well as instruction while monitoring and managing students’ behavior, including appropriate enforcement of student behavior rules. Teach classes assigned following prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the Administrator/Principal. SCA offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience. Unconditionally agree with our doctrinal statements at SCA including the Statement of Faith, Position on Critical Issues, and the Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. Understand the ministerial function of their role as described in the SCA Policies and Procedures Manual.
