Description

Job Summary:

This is a temporary Summer position that will end 9/01/2023.

School Age Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting with planning, leading, and evaluating group experiences. The incumbent will provide quality hands on recreational experiences for children that focus on promoting healthy attitudes and lifestyles through safe, respectful, fun and diverse learning experiences.

Essential Functions:

  • Safety and supervision of participants.
  • Getting the children off the bus on school days.
  • Providing homework help after school.
  • Planning, supervising, and implementation of the program and program activities.
  • Assist in the promotion of the program including calendars, newsletters, and other forms of communication with parents and the community.
  • Provide work direction to program staff while on duty assisting the Center Director or Assistant Director with supervision and training.
  • Continuously evaluate the program and recommend needed changes to the Center Director or Assistant Director.
  • Ensure that the site is kept clean and organized.
  • Perform administrative activities to support the program, including record and file maintenance, registration, release forms, and emergency forms.
  • Maintain CACFP and Minnesota Department of Health Licensing for meals and snacks, if applicable.

Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Center Director or Assistant Director. The incumbent interacts with participants, parents, staff, school employees, and community. The incumbent has regular contact with children and parents. This position involves interaction with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
