Adventure Summary

Are you a Creative Director looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a senior creative designer to lead our in-house Creative Team! As Creative Director at Brownells, you will be responsible for producing and creating inspiring concepts that will be applied across multiple channels and touchpoints, with a focus on brand design and conceptually driven innovation design.

But it's not just about design. We're looking for someone who understands how brand strategy relates to design and has experience working closely with the marketing, digital and UI/UX teams to ensure all elements of a project create a complete and compelling brand story. You'll be managing an internal team, inspiring them to produce outstanding creative results while also getting your hands dirty with leading-edge design work.

Reporting to the VP of Brand Management, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the Brownells and 2nd Adventure Group brands at every touchpoint - from ecommerce to events to packaging. What You Will Do

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of innovative design strategies, ensuring a cohesive and elevated brand aesthetic across all channels, including digital, print, and experiential platforms, to captivate target audiences and drive brand growth
  • Produce world-class creative design content as an individual contributor, as well as inspire and manage creative execution of in-house team (web, graphic, and video designers) on multiple brand assets, such as websites, landing pages, advertisements, and brochures
  • Guide and maintain visual brand identity for all brands
  • Craft and refine creative briefs and lead integrated marketing campaigns
  • Partner with UI/UX to maintain design consistency
  • Create design-forward concepts and apply them across channels and touchpoints
  • Provide omni solutions to brand design problems
  • Design and produce branded graphics in an individual contributor capacity across all touchpoints
  • Represent the design team and mentor designers in project meetings
  • Oversee and optimize the traffic management process, coordinating project timelines and resource allocation across creative teams, to ensure efficient workflow, timely delivery of assets, and consistently high-quality output that aligns with brand objectives

 

What You Will Need

Education, Experience and Design Portfolio

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, design or related field highly preferred
  • 10+ years design experience, with at least 5 years leading a creative team
  • A portfolio of world-class work demonstrating examples of your aesthetic/design success

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • An ability to both direct and inspire leading-edge design work, as well as a willingness, ability, and appetite to ‘get your hands dirty’ designing in an individual contributor capacity
  • An understanding of strategically driven brand identity design
  • Knowledge of Digital / eCommerce best practices
  • A strong understanding of dynamic wed design and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Positive and clear communication style — ability to articulate ideas, voice constructive opinions
  • Masterful collaboration skills, ability to multi-task and find answers to questions cross-functionally
  • A great attitude and positive outlook
  • Thoughtful and elevated typography and strategic, brand systems thinking
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and easily adaptable to change

 

Physical Demands

Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
