Stier Supply Company is a 76-year-old family run and operated organization whose goal is to be the #1 Millwork Services company in the Southeast US. Our install teams are responsible for working in new residential neighborhoods where they focus on installing exterior doors, interior doors, trim, stairs, hardware, and blinds.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, energetic, and organized Payroll Specialist to provide administrative and organizational support to our HR, Benefits, and Payroll Manager at our Gaston/Sandy Run, South Carolina location. The ideal candidate can manage and prioritize multiple projects while working independently with little to no supervision.

Duties of the Payroll Specialist include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide backup to payroll team & process payroll by themselves on weekly basis.
  • Aid our employees in the use of several web-based platforms including Paychex and encourage new hires to create Benefit accounts and make selections through Benefit Connector website.
  • Process and maintain records and compliance for child support, bankruptcy orders, and tax levies.
  • Create weekly termination/hiring reports and monthly headcount reports.
  • Assist in digitizing existing paper documents.
  • Additional clerical duties as assigned by manager.

Position Requirements

Qualities of the ideal candidate include:

  • Payroll processing experience is a must
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential material is required.
  • Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint (Dropbox would be a plus)
  • Able to wear multiple hats and be able to jump from one to other quickly and often.
  • Organize, and prioritize time and responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are critical.
  • Previous experience with benefits, human resources or accounting is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Exposure to and experiences with other IT systems.
  • HR Bachelor’s degree is a plus, but not a requirement.
