Description

Annual Salary: $47,860.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm with flexibility to work early mornings and late evenings.

Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. 

The Opioid Treatment Program at Hampton Roads Clinic offers a unique and specialized program for adults with a long history of dependence on opiates such as prescription pain medications, heroin, and morphine. The program offers a full range of services to help individuals achieve recovery from opiate dependency and improve their quality of life.

The Therpaist I manages a predetermined caseload in an outpatient setting which involves the assessment evaluation of incoming clients, individual, group and family counseling, educational sessions and discharge/aftercare planning for clients.

Requirements: Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling and one (1) year related clinical experience. Must register for clinical supervision toward licensure with the LPC or LCSW Virginia Licensing Board within 90 days of employment. Clinical supervisor will be provided.

Must be registered as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) with the Virginia Board of Counseling or register to receive CSAC Supervision Approval within 60 days of employment.  CSAC Supervisor will be provided.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
