Head Golf Professional 

Description

Assist the Golf Course Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the golf course. Typical duties to include (but not limited to) working the pro-shop counter, answering the phone, managing the tee-book, managing play on the golf course, conducting group and private golf lessons, and assisting the golf course manager with events and marketing the golf course.

Answer pro-shop phone with enthusiasm and professionalism. Answer questions and inquiries from the golfing public.

Check golfers in and process Point of Sale (POS) transactions in an accurate and efficient manner while maintaining a high level of customer service; help control and manage daily play.

Reconcile the daily reports – ensuring the deposit bag and GL report is delivered to the COT cashiering department.

Manage the tee book – block tee book accordingly in advance for events, course maintenance projects, and weather closures.

Manage all golf software programs – G1, Golf Genius, and GHIN Handicap.

Oversee the weekly schedule to ensure that a City Employee (Golf Course Manager, Assistant Golf Professional, or Golf Shop Assistant) is on duty as much as possible.

Manage all golf instruction – private lessons, player development clinics, and junior clinics.

Assist Golf Course Manager in event management, including – scheduling, promotion, day of set-up & management, and billing.

Assist the Golf Course Manager in inventory management, including – performing a quarterly inventory, ordering & receiving merchandise, pricing, properly displaying, and sales.

Position will require a flexible schedule that will include working some weekends, holidays and some opening/closing shifts.

Assist Golf Course Manager in creating and managing the yearly golf calendar.

 
Position Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

PGA/LPGA Member or Associate with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience preferred.

Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.

Good computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Office.

Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Must have a valid driver's license.

 
Physical/Environmental Requirements Mobility to work in a typical retail pro-shop setting with lots of standing is required, as is the ability to go outside and wash and put away golf carts at the end of the day. Also, using standard office equipment is required. In addition, vision to read printed materials and computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
