Since 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.
The Financial Services Technician - Account Payable responsibles include the following:
- Processesing accounts payable: examining invoices, vouchers, requisitions and other accounting documents for correctness. Discusses and resolves problems with vendors and agency staff, prepares bills for payment, enters and proofs account information, prints and distributes checks, reconciles vendor accounts, files requisitions. Resolves statement and unpaid invoices issues.
- Maintains Accounts Payable database including setting up new vendors and updating W-9 information.
- Assist in year-end close by preparing Accounts Payable records for prior years for offsite storage and establishing new records for the current fiscal year.

Requirements: High School Diploma with experience in accounting or bookkeeping. At least one (1) year experience in automated computer based system. Some experience in a public behavioral health care environment preferred.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
