Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (SHC) is a Lasallian Vincentian Catholic, co-educational college preparatory secondary school located in the heart of San Francisco, California. SHC is a San Francisco Archdiocesan High School that is cosponsored by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, District of San Francisco New Orleans and the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Province of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

POSITION TITLE: Stewardship Manager
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Stewardship & Future Giving
FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time Regular, 12 Months
EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD
COMPENSATION RANGE: $65,000 -$75,000 per year

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Stewardship & Future Gifts (DSFG), the Stewardship Manager is responsible for coordinating and implementing a comprehensive, innovative stewardship program that builds deeper, more meaningful relationships with SHC’s most generous stakeholders and strategic partners. Working closely with the DSFG, President, and the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Stewardship Manager will acknowledge, engage, inform and inspire the school’s most committed stakeholders, with a goal to sustain and increase their level of investment in a variety of school initiatives. The Stewardship Manager will also help maintain and execute an ongoing planned giving program through a variety of marketing strategies and personal interaction with stakeholders and future giving prospects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Stewardship:

  • Assist the DSFG to further develop exceptional school relationships with SHC’s top 25 existing stakeholders using a variety of personal touch points and memorable experiences

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 existing major investors and prospects ($25,000 and above, living Heritage Society members) for ongoing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

  • Engage, cultivate, report and present opportunities to members of the school’s current parent community who have the capacity to make gifts of $10,000 or more in support of a variety of school initiatives

  • Call to thank every investor for their gifts in support of SHC

Endowed Scholarship Funds:

  • Develop relationships with student fund recipients and connect investors, when appropriate, with the students receiving their scholarship support

  • Coordinate endowed fund donor communications, reports, and follow-up

  • Promote endowment growth by assisting with an ongoing and consistent electronic and print media presence and storytelling campaign

Future/Planned Giving:

  • Collaborate with the DSFG to promote future/planned gifts through electronic and print media, direct mail, and personal relationship building

  • Provide regular stewardship for living Heritage Society members

  • Maintain professional competency and currency in the field of planned giving through professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, and attending training and/or courses suggested by the DSFG

Other Responsibilities:

  • Help facilitate on-campus recognition events, awards and naming opportunities

  • Serve as a campus contact for the most significant investors and stakeholders, helping to resolve problems, questions, and concerns

  • Assist, as needed, the work of the President and Executive Assistant to the President

 
Position Requirements

Qualification and Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; pleasant, warm demeanor

  • Must show a high level of initiative and follow through with the ability to work independently

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and balance multiple priorities while maintaining a positive outlook and working effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to thrive within a diverse, inclusive work environment

  • Ability to work appropriately with confidential and/or sensitive information

  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

  • Detail-oriented, flexible, strong work ethic

  • Experience in customer service or sales

  • Proficiency in computer applications, Google Applications, mail merge tools, databases and social media

  • Ability and willingness to learn the Salseforce relationship management database

  • A commitment to ongoing education and professional growth

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience, including sales and marketing

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft software applications, Google/Gmail and internet usage, and database management
