About the Organization Founded in 1996 by parents who sought the very best treatment available to deliver opportunities to children and adolescents living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Minnesota Autism Center (MAC) provides therapeutic services for children ages 18 months to 21 years who have ASD.



MAC's services are center-based and in-home, and include speech and occupational therapy, assessment and diagnosis services, and individual and family therapy. At any given time, MAC serves approximately 370-400 clients throughout Minnesota at 17 centers located in Eagan, Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, Fridley, Vadnais Heights, Minnetonka, Woodbury, Duluth, Virginia, Mankato, Rochester, Red Wing, New Ulm, Medford, Hutchinson and Cambridge.



 
Description

MAC’s team of experienced licensed mental health professionals are capable of providing psychological testing and formal diagnosis of Autism while providing on-going comprehensive evaluation. Our assessment services are available to current MAC families as well as those who have not yet established a relationship with MAC. We use the most accurate and up-to-date psychological testing measures for diagnosing Autism.

The Assesor provides psychological testing within the framework of comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to individuals, children, and families within the realm of Autism.

Responsibilities:

  • The Assessor is responsible for administering/scoring psychological tests, which are to be used to evaluate, diagnose, and/or confirm the presence/severity of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) along clinical interviews and other measures as it relates to Autism.
  • Training and supervision on psychological tests will be provided by a licensed psychologist and/or other licensed clinician through the Minnesota Autism Center prior to the administration of specific tests where needed.
  • Completing and documenting all Diagnostic Assessments, progress notes, and case reviews per agency policy and MN Department of Human Services requirements will be necessary.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and staff related to mental health and co-occurring disorders.
  • Types of testing such as assessing outcome measures and tests that assess adaptive functioning, administering tests such as the ADOS-2, and other measures that evaluate for Autism.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary/professional team consultation meetings once per week and other clinical and administrative meetings, as required.
  • Receive ongoing individual and group supervision as required by respective licensing board
  • Ensure the content and format of client records be uniform and entries in each case are signed and dated by a licensed mental health professional.
  • Actively participate in all required clinical supervision requirements.
  • Provide feedback sessions.
  • Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with client referral, family members, and any relevant professionals, including psychiatry, medical doctor, school system, social services agencies, probation, etc.
  • Conduct professional standard diagnostic evaluations, making decisions and recommendations for treatment planning and implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in behavioral-health science or related field or active Mental Health Professional License in the state of Minnesota.
  • Candidates can be either licensed or pre-licensed (we provide board approved supervision) to be eligible for the position. (LP, LICSW, LMFT, and/or LPCC)
  • Must be eligible to be credentialed with insurers
  • Experience with clinical mental health diagnosis and treatment in the ASD populations

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong computer literacy skills
  • Strong experience in working with the ASD clinical population
