The Med tech - Nurse Aide will support the Frederick Living Mission of caring for and enriching the lives of older adults with the following essential responsibilities:

  • Act as a team player.
  • Assist in admissions, transfers, discharges and death procedures.
  • Maintain residents’ records daily, (ie) weights and vital signs, in a timely manner, and in accordance with FMC policy and procedures.
  • Assist residents with medication as defined by the medication procedure and physicians’ orders.
  • Assist residents or families who have elected to use other pharmacies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the residents.
  • Responds promptly and positively to resident request for assistance, including telephone calls, and requests from family and friends, visitors, or other personnel.
  • Perform all Personal Care Aide duties.
  • Monitor resident location; notify the Charge Nurse or Manager immediately if unable to locate a resident.
  • Follow proper procedures in emergency situations, and obtain additional personnel if necessary.
  • Answer resident’s emergency promptly.
  • Assist with collecting specimens as needed.
  • Work all tours of duty as assigned.
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Maintain Medication Administration certification.
  • Abide by the organization’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to grasp, kneel, pull, push, ambulate long distances, reach and stand adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to feel, see, smell, and speak adequately to perform the essential function of the job.
  • Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in inside environmental conditions.
