Candidate Profile
Hilldrup is seeking an experienced Local Planner with superior critical thinking and organizational skills to plan, coordinate, and dispatch local jobs daily in an efficient and effective manner. The incumbent will have frequent contact with customers, agents, salespersons, and all operations personnel to coordinate moves as delegated by the Operations Manager.

Significant Responsibilities and Essential Functions

1. Assists with morning dispatch.

2. Responsible for job and crew assignments.

3. Reviews all paperwork and special quality requirements with each crew.

4. Proofreads all paperwork before audits.

5. Assists the local operations manager with timely and effective responses to non-conformances.

6. Responsible for cleanliness of all local equipment.

7. Responsible for ensuring uniform compliance among warehouse crews and contract labor.

8. Maintains the situation log and ensures that all in-progress situations are handled in a timely and efficient matter.

9. Ensures the facility has an adequate supply of contract labor that meet requirements for background and drug testing.

 
Position Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications Required

  • 2 to 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the moving and storage industry preferred;
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license;
  • Certified Weighmaster, preferred;
  • Excellent planning skills;
  • Thorough knowledge of equipment capabilities;
  • Good financial and business acumen;
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to effectively develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team;
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Adept regarding the use of technology;
  • Commitment to highest ethical practices;
  • Strong geographical understanding of the mid-Atlantic region preferred.
