Description

Performs a support and partnering service in a manufacturing/office environment. This position assists in the aircraft completions and service effort through work in employment, employee relations, training, records management, compensation, benefits, discipline, policy preparation/interpretation, management development, community relations, employee communications, and special tasks.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  1. Work to ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations; work with other management members to help ensure equitable compensation for all employees; review job descriptions and recommend wage grade placements.
  2. Assist in monitoring potential union activity and work to eliminate the possibility of unionization, i.e. employee advocate.
  3. Investigate complaints of discrimination; conduct follow-up after investigation is concluded. Respond to charges of discrimination filed with the EEOC.
  4. Counsel with employees and management team members needing assistance.
  5. Counsel with management team members in use of employee discipline; review and sign written warnings, review suspensions and terminations.
  6. Develop compensation structures (to include pay grades and job titles) by analyzing salaries and job responsibilities.
  7. Periodically review personnel policies; recommend policy changes/additions as necessary;
    assist in policy administration.
  8. Act as company representative in legal matters concerning employment; provide assistance to corporate and retained attorneys in witness interviews, depositions, international mobility issues including but not limited to expatriation, visa administration, green cards, etc. Also act as company representative with both the Department of Labor representatives and/or the EEOC as required.
  9. Assist in recruiting with outside placement agencies and/or other recruiting techniques including company recruiting events and college networking events.
  10. Develop HR training curriculum and materials; train employees & management team members as needed.
  11. Provide leadership and guidance for Human Resources Department; exhibit skills needed for growth into management position.
  12. Perform necessary research, develop and implement company procedures.
  13. Perform analytical tasks on project basis.
  14. Update monthly employment activity data for the maintenance of charts.
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, such as Business, Psychology, Sociology.
  2. Extensive HR knowledge regarding HR laws and policies and be able to consistently apply that knowledge.
  3. Five (5) years private sector experience in multiple human resource disciplines, such as compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  4. Minimum of two (2) years experience performing compensation and data analysis.
  5. Demonstrated leadership qualities including suggesting and implementing approaches to improve service to customer and efficiency of processes.
  6. Demonstrated dependability to meet deadlines and follow through on assignments.
  7. Must be comfortable presenting to and approaching all levels of management.
  8. Proven thoroughness in approach toward assignments with minimal to no errors.
  9. Exhibits continuous initiative/does not settle for the status quo.
  10. Above average written and verbal communication skills
  11. Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point, including a reporting tool such as Crystal Reports.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. HR Certification
  2. Three (3) years experience in aircraft manufacturing/servicing.
  3. Bilingual in English and French languages.
  4. Practiced platform skills in training situation.
  5. Experience in “Union Avoidance” initiatives.
