Position Summary:The Service Coordinator is primarily responsible for providing continuous coordination of services for victims seeking services with House of Ruth Maryland. This position is responsible for welcoming and orienting new residents to the program, providing crisis intervention and safety planning, developing an intervention strategy, support system, and connection to programs. Offsite visits are part of the job. Participants in House of Ruth Maryland programs are all victims of Intimate Partner Violence and have experienced complex traumatic events that shape how they interact with the people around them. The primary model of service is one of progressive engagement, with survivors taking the lead in determining what goals they wish to accomplish, what programs and services they wish to access to help them achieve their goals, and what pace survivors wish to access those services. Voluntary Services means that survivors in our residential programs are not required to complete any programs or tasks to have access to safe shelter. As such, the best candidates for the Service Coordinator position are those with a firm understanding of trauma, the effects of trauma, engaging traumatized people, and experience working within a harm reduction, housing first or voluntary services program model.

This position is based at the Argonne Drive campus in Baltimore City, with approximately 20% of the time spent in travel around Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince Georges County and Montgomery County
