Base Wage $19.00 - $20.90 per hour based on education and experience  

SAL Community Services, home to Child Care Resource and Referral of Midwestern Illinois, connects the community to services that ensure every child can succeed in school and life, and every adult has access to basic human needs like food, counseling, child care, and housing. We do this by listening, learning, and acting to help individuals and families navigate the barriers that prevent them from moving their life forward in a positive way.

Child Care Resource and Referral of Midwestern Illinois is searching for an Outreach Specialist who is a critical member of our team. In the role, you get to build community awareness of the child care resource and referral services, implement communications plans, and support the provider community. You will:

  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies of quality of child care resources, child care providers, and interested candidates in early child care who want to begin or expand their career.
  • Address coordination and development of new child care resources (defined as the recruitment and development of new child care options) and retention resources through development, implementation, and evaluation of activities.
  • Market services of CCR&R within the community, including informational outreach to partnering service providers, building relationships with community businesses, and recruitment of families and providers for participation in the Child Care Assistance Program.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with area family service providers and local child care providers.
  • Assist parents, families, and internal team members in activities that connect members of the community with needed community resources and services.
  • Coordinate online and social media presence of agency including website content updates, website maintenance, social media content (development, scheduling, oversight and maintenance of posts).
  • Coordinate text messaging outreach services and work within internal team to develop & implement messaging campaigns.

Must obtain background clearances, have an associate’s degree, and complete physical tasks such as sit, stand, lift 10 pounds, use fingers and hands to type, and communicate with individuals.
