Corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Trainer

POSITION SUMMARY: The Corporate EHS Trainer ensures that all employees are safe from dangers and are educated well on handling and mitigating safety hazards. Alongside this, the Corporate EHS Trainer properly educates and informs all company employees on the company's safety protocols and procedures. It is the Corporate EHS Trainer's discretion on how they will be able to conduct workshops and seminars for all employees. The Corporate EHS Trainer is an administrative task, and the position is open for people with relevant skills concerning office works.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Recommend safety protocols and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposureto work hazards.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current safety policies, regulations, and operational processes. Assist with updating and teaching from RoadSafe's Environment, Health and Safety Manual.
  • Draft tool box talks, daily safety briefings, and other safety communications.
  • Conduct or facilitate supervisory and field level training of Divisional personnel. Administer and ensure training policy compliance at the Divisional level.
  • Conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
  • Conduct training to employees in First Aid, CPR, OSHA 10, and ATSSA Flagger card
  • Conduct trainings with RoadSafe employees to discuss such points as the state- specific and national standards & guidelines regarding the MUTCD, RoadSafe best practices, lessons learned, and potential hazards and to assist in resolve disputes regarding occupational safety issues.
  • Conduct new hire-employee health and safety orientations / training and assist in develop materials for these presentations.
  • This is a medium level travel position. Travel will be up to 25%
 
Position Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand on feet for up to 4 hours
  • Sitting for up to 10 hours
  • Twisting from hip up to 20% of day
  • Amount of time bending at knee up to 20% of day
  • Reaching up to 20% of day
  • Exposure to extreme weather hot / cold
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A High School diploma (or equivalent) is required
  • OHSA 10 Hour certified is required
  • First Aid, CPR trainer certified is a plus
  • OSHA 30 Hour trainer certified is a plus
  • Forklift Trainer certified is a plus
  • Knowledge of various ATSSA certifications
  • Must have be able to use Microsoft office programs / Microsoft 360 or Zoom for virtual training
  • Must be able to receive, understand, and communicate specific instructions
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to successfully pass background check and drug screen
  • Must be able to give written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be able to providing training to workers, using popular education/interactive approaches
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Must demonstrate leadership quality and be able to work with minimal supervision
