IT Server Administrator

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for the planning, testing, and operations of our server environment and applications including platform upgrades, capacity management, vulnerability and application management on a consistent basis across the bank; coordinating work within the departments and user groups and reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor.

Essential Duties

  1. Administer and maintain various enterprise technologies including but not limited to Active Directory, SQL, O365, SharePoint, SCCM, and VMware.
  1. Install new servers and software compliant with security procedures.
  1. Troubleshoot and resolve reported issues with operating systems and application software.
  1. Administer and maintain data replication technologies and system backups.
  1. Administer and maintain disaster recovery plans and disaster recovery quality assurance tests for the server infrastructure to ensure business continuity.
  1. Administer and maintain SAN (Storage Area Network) systems.
  1. Actively maintains help desk tickets and provide thorough documentation for problem resolution of tickets.
  1. Monitor data center operations & DR Operations.
  1. Experience in developing and implementing secure server policies in Active Directory
  1. Provides continued updates to management on the health of our systems and the actions planned to keep our assets up to date.
  1. Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  1. Participates in the support of server and security audits.
  1. Recommends, schedules, and performs software improvements and upgrades.
  1. Administers the software patching platform to execute required patching processes, including emergency patches following a rigorous change control process.
  1. Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
  1. Coordinates departmental tasks with coworkers inside and outside the department in order to ensure an efficient process and the completion of essential tasks needing proper segregation of duties.
  1. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; complies information as necessary or as directed and provides date to appropriate bank personnel.
  1. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within give time frames and within established policy.
  1. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
  1. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management, overall safety and soundness, and the bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.

  1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual or departmental circumstances.

 

 
Position Requirements

Education

Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

5+ years’ system admin experience

Experience

Problem solving and analytical skills.

Customer focus.

Ability to work successfully in a team environment and independently.

Ability to effectively communicate/present to all levels of business

Preferred Skills

  • Active Directory
  • Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019
  • Server virtualization - VMware
  • Veeam Backup systems.
  • High availability Architecture.
  • SAN Technologies.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs to move through the different floors of the location.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than two-thirds of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasionally adjust or move objects in all directions.
  • Frequently communicates with others to exchange information.
  • Constantly moves wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Occasionally exposed to high temperatures and low temperatures.
  • Occasionally has to work around noisy environments.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
