Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Administers organizational wellness programs intended to improve employee health and well-being. Implements and administers programs meant to encourage healthy lifestyles for employees, which may include gym subsidies or reimbursements, on-site vaccination clinics, smoking cessation or stress management workshops, or health screening programs as examples. Surveys employees to gauge interest in programs, assesses usage of existing programs, and interacts with benefit providers or other external vendors to make programs available to the employee population.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates the implementation of multiple health education/wellness program offerings for Endeavors staff.
  • Serves as a liaison between Wellness leadership and staff.
  • Promotes wellness and fitness initiatives in the organization; answers questions and collects feedback from participants.
  • Collaborates with leadership to identify cost-effective wellness programs and incentives.
  • In accordance with applicable law, assesses and analyzes the general physical and mental health needs of the employee population.
  • Collaboration with external entities for employee support, events, opportunities, education, etc.
  • Collaboration with benefits and aligning mutual efforts
  • Collaborates with mental health clinicians as requested and appropriate to coordinate mental health topics/groups for staff.
  • Developing measurable programs that support program, employee needs and Endeavors Mission/Values and compiles data for program reporting.
  • Designs, plans, and implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and voluntary fitness assessments to promote healthy lifestyles. Presents in-services about wellness services across departments.
  • Assists employees with personal concerns and assessments; provides recommendations and referrals for counseling, crisis intervention, and treatment.
  • Drafts and maintains accurate, confidential records and reports as required to track and assess employee participation, program incentives, costs, and benefits to the company.
  • Drafts reports and proposals for wellness initiatives and action plans (including cost-benefit analyses) for presentation to upper management.
  • Assists with preparation and implementation of wellness budget, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Health Education or related field required

EXPERIENCE: Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor. Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 4 to 6 years of experience.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.

LICENSES: Driver’s License with clear record. Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred. Certification in exercise instruction or other self-care modality (personal trainer/athletic trainer/yoga instructor/massage therapist/MBSR, etc.) a plus.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
