Grant Reviewer
OVERVIEW:
The Grant Reviewer will provide administrative and technical guidance and support to all projects funded to the tribe through grants from state and federal agencies.
WORK LOCATION: Finance Department
SUPERVISED BY: Grant Administrator
POSITION STATUS: Full-Time Regular/benefits
SALARY LEVEL: DOQ
WORK SCHEDULE: 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday/Varies
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Under the direction of the Grant Administrator, the Grant Reviewer will work with all department directors and grant managers of all awarded grants to the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe to manage external resources supporting the various programs and projects. Reviews Notice of Awards, Award Conditions and Requirements in accordance with state, federal and tribal organizational guidelines and performs related responsibilities as required.
- Maintains a complete and orderly administrative record of all proposals and grant activity including pre/post award procedures;
- Monitors progress of grant funded projects to include goals, objectives, outcomes, deliverables, and all other contract terms through regular communication and meetings with grant managers/department directors - will keep apprised of agency's policies to ensure implementation and budgets are in compliance;
- Conduct audits on all grant funded projects as needed;
- Works directly with grant administrator to acquire other skills as needed to keep the function of the department moving forward;
- Reviews grant related performance and financial reporting;
- Reviews financial draws for grants and contracts;
- Provides monthly update of programmatic and financial reports deadlines to grant managers and grant administrator;
- Provide documentation for auditors on grant related selections;
- Provide documentation to grant administrator for grant related reimbursements;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Excellent knowledge of grant processes and practices
- Skilled in administrative processes to carry out varied grant mandated job responsibilities
- Ability to maintain a cordial relationship with various departments of the organization for proper coordination as well with grantees/funding agencies
- Must be well organized and have detail oriented approach
- Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.), internet, fax, copier, printers, scanners and telephone
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems, techniques and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to interpret and apply granting agencies rules and regulations.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks on time.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Three years’ experience working in grant related field - (must verify and validate work experience)
- Experience working with Indian tribes in grant related activities.
- Ability to establish good working relationship with funding agencies, foundations, tribal program directors/managers and the tribal Business Committee.
- Experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles preferred;
- Valid Driver’s License.
