Share Email Opening Title In Home Residential Support Technician - Part-time  Category Direct Care - In Home Services   Description Responsible for the implementation of a suitable individualized service plan for individuals with intellectual disabilities who reside in their own homes, in the community or other appropriate settings. Services may include: in-home training, personal assistance, in-home respite services and out-of-home respite services. Input as to needed services will result from a team approach and will include involvement from Case Management Services, family members, and appropriate therapeutic consultants. The purpose of this position is to enhance the individual's level of independence in the community, and to prevent a more restrictive placement. Provide personal care and assistance to individuals, to include bathing, dressing, grooming and feeding, if needed. Clean the individual's room and related areas, wash and dry laundry, and prepare meals for the individual. Teach skills to the individual to increase independence. Assist in administration of medications, replenishment of medications, repackaging of medications, and documentation of same. Transport individuals on community outings to increase social skills. Transport individuals to doctor's appointments as needed. Serve as a member of the planning team, working closely with the assistant supervisors, case managers and other suitable professionals to ensure goals are met.Responsible for keeping accurate and confidential records on the time spent on direct service, progress made, and documentation of any unusual circumstances that may arise. Responsible for timely submission of monthly billing reports, payroll time sheets, quarterly reports, and related paperwork. Responsible for timely submission of accident reports, serious injury reports, fall reports and medication error reports, as required by policy. Required to attend in-services on a regular basis, as determined by the supervisor, to improve professional knowledge of concepts associated with intellectual disabilities. Adhere to all policies and procedures of Cumberland Mountain Community Services Board, the rules and regulations of the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services and the Code of Virginia, and adhere to the expectations of CMCSB's Employee Code of Ethics. Assist in dealing with verbally and physically aggressive individuals using agency approved techniques, in order to effectively meet treatment needs, and comply with human rights regulations.   Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent.  Education equivalent to a high school diploma may be considered with proof of knowledge, skills, and abilities.   Ability to understand the special training needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.   Current valid drivers license and good driving record.   Willingness and ability to travel and use personal transportation in a work capacity.  Ability to successfully complete training in, and demonstrate a practical use of, Medication Administration, Medication Repackaging, Medicaid Waiver training, CPR, First Aid, behavioral intervention training, etc.   Ability to lift forty (40) pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.   Ability to work scheduled hours, be on time for work, and follow reporting guidelines for requested time off.  Willingness to work in other homes, as needed.  Good written and oral communication skills.  Effective problem solving and decision making skills.   Ability to organize own work and be self-directed.  Basic knowledge of community resources.   Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time   Shift Various Shifts   Tags direct care, personal care, aide, pca, in home, in-home, cna   Travel Requirements Transport individuals to and from agency programs, doctor's appointments and community activities.   Position In Home Residential Support Technician - Part-time   Close Date   Number of Openings 2   Req Number DIR-23-00005   Open Date 2/23/2023   Location In Home Program - Buchanan, Russell and Tazewell Counties   About the Organization CMCSB was formed in 1972 as a Chapter 10 Community Services Board under Virginia law. CMCSB provides mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse treatment services to the residents of Buchanan, Russell, and Tazewell Counties. At the present time, CMCSB operates over twenty locations, to include outpatient offices, mental health recovery programs, group homes and day support programs for intellectually disabled individuals, and a residential alcohol and drug treatment program. In addition, CMCSB has several services that are provided directly in an individual's home or in a supported environment. CMCSB also provides a 24-hour crisis team to assist community agencies and individuals in crisis situations. CMCSB employs approximately 500 employees, which include full-time and part-time employees, as well as individuals receiving services who are employed to work in various day programs.
