POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for Triage Protocols to include answering phone notes and/or routing phone notes to the proper Advanced Practice Providers or physicians. As a register nurse, you will perform your job duties according to the State Nursing Practice Act while upholding the utmost ethical and safe techniques always keeping the care of the patient as your top priority. You will work very closely with the entire team of healthcare professional in the facility and must have a complete understanding of your limitations in turn seeking advice with necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Follows Triage Protocols, policies and procedures to include answering phone notes and routing phone notes to the proper midlevel or provider to ensure patients questions are answered.
  • Processes pre-op outpatient labs & enters pre hydration orders if needed, routes to the Advanced Practice Providers for review and signature.
  • Processes home health & hospice requests
  • Processes all notification forms from insurance companies and pharmacies
  • Assist with all patients who need assistance in the Peoria office
  • Assist the echo department with bubble studies for patients
  • Creates phone notes and routes phone notes to the appropriate person or department.
  • Responds to patient questions directly or by researching the correct information and then calling the patient back.
  • Assist with call backs daily for each phone note in the clinical check out bucket.
  • Assist with and retrieves and responds to messages left on voicemail.
  • Assist with calls or faxes prescriptions to pharmacies in response to refill requests.
  • Assist with cardiac Clearance Faxcom folder daily and creates a cardiac clearance phone note.
  • Assist with and respond to all electronic, faxed and telephone refill requests, patient portal messages.
  • Check emails
  • Communicate with all staff, patients and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Participates in the orientation, training/teaching of other staff.
  • Is punctual and dependent
  • Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
  • Follow policy when disposing of biohazardous materials, labeling and handling of all materials.
  • Will handle and be knowledgeable of all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Skill with the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced-environment and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College of Nursing.
  • Valid and current Arizona Nursing License Required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful nursing practice with a minimum of one (1) year of recent cardiology experience in a hospital or office setting.
  • Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

DRESS CODE/UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

This position is required to wear Cardiac Solutions approved uniform.

  • No scrubs or uniform tees, other than Cardiac Solutions’ approved scrubs and tees are permissible.
  • Jeans or khakis may be worn on Fridays only. Capris below the knee are permissible
  • Thong Flip Flops or any type of beach or pool shoes are not permissible at any time.
  • Cardiac Solutions’ name badges are required to be clearly visible above waist height at all times.
  • If an employee is deemed to be out of dress code compliance, the employee may be subject to disciplinary action and/or sent home without pay to change clothing and is expected to return to work immediately.

  • May need to assist patients by assessing the situation and providing or seeking in office or outside assistance while exercising appropriate body mechanics.
