Brief Summary of Position and Requirements
Our Maintenance department is looking for a general maintenance technician to join their team. You must have journeyman-level electrical skills and should have experience in one or more of the following skilled trades: plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, building automation & controls, or mechanical piping. Must have experience working in a safety-oriented environment. Must be adaptable, team orientated, a self-starter requiring little supervision, able to manage time effectively, and work safely.
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or one-year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed per department's rotation schedule.This full-time position is eligible for benefits. Performs journeyman-level skilled maintenance tasks as part of the Maintenance department, in support of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Maintains, repairs, and installs physical plant systems including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, exhibits, and paths on grounds by performing the following duties.

Education and/or Experience
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeyman-level electrical skills are required.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
