Description

Under the direction of the Crew Chief, the Crew Lead is responsible for the efficient execution of the work scope. The Crew Lead ensures tasks, within the scope of their normally assigned duties, are performed using established standards of quality and airworthiness. The Crew Lead is responsible to the Accountable Manager for Repair Station Operations conducted under 14 CFR 145.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Assigns technicians to perform the tasks as directed by the Crew Chief.
      • Ensures the use of applicable technical data, including but not limited to, the methods, techniques and practices prescribed in the current manufacturer’s maintenance manual.
      • Ensures that personnel assigned to perform tasks are qualified to perform the task and identifies training requirements.
      • Ensures that aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed in accordance with methods of execution outlined in the RSQCM.
      • Provides for the shift turnover requirements as outlined in the RSQCM
      • Drives daily activities toward providing services and deliverables to the customer that meet and exceed customer satisfaction expectations.
      • Ensures that crews maintain good housekeeping practices by utilizing a 5S system of “sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain.” Takes immediate action to maintain a clean safe environment.
      • Maintains a focus on Human Factors in the workplace and drives to zero defects in workmanship and safety.
      • Supports the Maintenance Error Analysis Process (MEAP).
      • Contributes to the annual training needs assessment exercise required by the Repair Station Training Program.
      • Supports the corporate mission and vision through achievement of department goals and objectives, contributes to process improvement and the development of strategies that improve customer service and the maintenance process.
      • Tool Control: It is the responsibility of every employee to inventory their tools at the end of their shift and whenever moving from one aircraft project to another. It is also the responsibility of the employee to return company tools to the tool room at the end of each shift or prior to moving to another aircraft. Proper tool control is mandated by the FAA and our Repair Station and Quality Control Manual. It is imperative to have the correct tool logged to the aircraft that it is being used on for calibration usage and recall purposes.
 
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A & P license
  • Proven ability to lead and direct aircraft technicians and mechanics.
  • Ability to organize and assign technical work and follow up complex projects.
  • Proven ability to work and communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, technicians, and customers in a business-like manner.
