Description

Aircraft Crew Chief reports to the AOG Manager and is responsible for the efficient execution of the work scope and for the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations performed under the authority of the FAA Certificated Repair Station. Aircraft Crew Chief performs tasks and ensures tasks, within the scope of their normally assigned duties, are performed using established standards of quality and airworthiness.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assigns maintenance technicians and Crew Leads to perform the tasks required by the work scope and monitors performance to plan.
  • Supervises the daily activities of assigned work crews taking necessary action to insure that all work is completed within schedule and estimated labor and material costs.
  • Drives the team for maximum efficiency and effective use of available resources including assignment of overtime as required and authorized and accurately charging labor hours to the appropriate Work Order Squawk Form.
  • Assigns the tasks as required by the work scope with efficiency and to quality standards.
  • Ensures the use of applicable technical data, including but not limited to, the methods, techniques and practices prescribed in the current manufacturer’s maintenance manual.
  • Ensures that personnel assigned to perform tasks are qualified to perform the task and identifies training requirements.
  • Monitors all work performed by the crew to ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and is airworthy.
  • Ensures that aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed in accordance with methods of execution outlined in the RSQCM.
  • Provides for the shift turnover requirements as outlined in the RSQCM.
  • Collaborates and cooperates with the assigned AOG Manager to achieve the on time and on budget objectives of the work scope.
  • Ensures that crews maintain good housekeeping practices by utilizing a 5S system of “sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain. Takes immediate action to maintain a clean safe environment.
  • Ensures that assigned crews follow adequate safety precautions and procedures, inspect equipment to ensure it meets company safety and OSHA standards.
  • Supervise a continuous safety program in their area of responsibility, including operation of support equipment, aircraft systems, housekeeping and hazardous materials.
  • Maintains a focus on Human Factors in the workplace and drives to zero defects in workmanship and safety. Supports the Quality Issues Notification system.
  • Ensures that crews maintain good housekeeping practices by utilizing a 5S system of “sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain. Takes immediate action to maintain a clean safe environment.
  • Ensures that assigned crews follow adequate safety precautions and procedures, inspect equipment to ensure it meets company safety and OSHA standards.

 

 
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess an FAA Mechanic’s A&P Certificate. Inspection Authorization is desirable.
  • Associates’ Degree in an Aviation field desired, or aircraft maintenance related experience equivalent. Completion of one (1) Falcon Initial Maintenance School.
  • Three (3) plus years leadership experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate subordinates, strong problem solving, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with QC systems.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, CFR parts 43, 91, and 145, and 135 as required.
  • A working knowledge of aircraft factory modifications, service bulletins, vendor information, and inspection program requirements.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and project management applications.
